Mark Mitchison

Mark was born and raised in London. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Leeds and his PhD at Imperial College London, then spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher in Ulm, Germany. In October 2018, he joined the QuSys group at Trinity College Dublin (TCD) as a postdoc, and was promoted to Senior Postdoc in December 2020. Mark left QuSys in June 2021 to found the ToCQS group and join the faculty as an Assistant Professor in Quantum Science at TCD. His research interests span mesoscopic and atomic physics, quantum optics, non-equilibrium statistical mechanics, and quantum information.
