Marlon Brenes
Marlon Brenes is a physicist and a chemical engineer from Universidad de Costa Rica. After graduating he moved to Trieste to attend the joint SISSA/ICTP Master in HPC program under the ICTP fellowship, where he graduated with honours. His project on massively parallel simulations of dynamics in quantum spin systems won the best project prize for his Masters Thesis. After this, he spent some time as a visiting scientist at the Condensed Matter and Statistical Physics section of the ICTP developing his research interests in out-of-equilibrium physics of quantum systems and dynamics, disordered quantum systems, statistical mechanics and HPC-related approaches towards the simulation of quantum dynamics. He is currently a PhD student at the School of Physics in Trinity College Dublin. He is funded from a Royal Society Grant “Thermodynamic potential of disordered and interacting wires”.
