Michael Kewming

Michael is a Post-Doctoral Researcher from Queensland, Australia. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Monash University in 2016, before undertaking a PhD at the University of Queensland where he graduated in 2021. He held a one year Post-Doctoral research position at the University of Queensland before relocating to the QuSys group at TCD.

His expertise is in both experimental quantum optics, atomic optics, and cold atoms, as well as theoretical quantum optics, stochastic quantum physics, and quantum measurement, feedback, and control. He is interested in understanding how concepts from stochastic quantum physics can be applied to understand the thermodynamics of quantum systems subject to measurement in realistic experimental settings. He has received numerous awards for his communication and outreach activities.
